This is the classic, famed General Aviation plane of most of Europe, the Robin DR400,
designed by Pierre Robin.  This particular model is the DR400 / 180, featuring a higher
performance 180 HP engine.  The DR400 is a wood based aircraft with wood ribbing
wing structures covered with aircraft fabric.  The fuselage is mostly skinned, high grade
woods as well.  The interior seats 4 people neatly and usually sports a very nice
Avionics stack.  This aircraft is said to be in higher numbers then Cessna at most all air
clubs and flying schools and small air strips and airports.  It is probably one of 'the'
most famous GA planes in most of Europe.

This package features;
*  5 Aircraft liverie paint schemes
*  Detailed instrument panel with all 3D switches and knobs, animated as well
*  Sophisticated Garmin GNS-430 GPS nav system
*  Authentic Robin fuel, tachometer, and air speed instruments including popup window
modes
*  High detail interior
*  Authentic starter button at fuel selector
*  Animated pilot that scans instruments and the horizon

This package addon is for Prepar3D Flight Training Simulator, and Microsoft Flight
Simulator X, FSX with the SP1 Service Pack.
Click here to go to Robin Aircraft website.  There you can read through their
many model releases as well as download some extremely well done
screenshots from their gallery section.  These make brilliant computer wallpaper.
There are presently 7 different exterior paint schemes that the Robin DR400 comes
with.  These are the classic paint schemes given them by the factory.  The 'Gray and
Yellow' version, gray on top with yellow stripes, is a weathered, aged version.
This is the panel of the Robin DR400.  We sought to make the panel as realistic as
possible.  This panel features sunken instruments with glass surfaces revealing
reflections as like real glass instruments.  The Avionics stack is modeled in high 3D,
mapped directly to gauge data.

Mini gauge popup windows are featured on the Robins elaborate, realistic panel.
Clicking on certain click zones causes most gauges to popup, such as the gauges
mentioned above as well as the radio stack.

In this package, we feature the Garmin GNS-430, a GPS system which serves on this
plane as COM2/NAV2, and has 2 popup modes; radio stack mode, and larger GPS map
mode size for easier reading of the small map window.

This Robin DR400 is fitted with a basic yet very functional S-Tec 55 auto pilot.  It will set
(lock) your altitude or climb rate, and also lock your heading setting, and will fly a GPS
preset route.
Special Features are the 'extra's that the package features.
*  Sound Effects System that features click sounds and sound effects
*  Popup Mini Windows of gauges that are specific to the DR400
1. Speed gauge with flaps and stall and cruise 'speed registry' dots
2. Tachmeter with red line for the 180 HP engine
3. Robin fuel gauges that are in Liters, but have mouse overs in Gallons, and feature the
graphics that show how many Liters are in each quarter of the fuel cell; left, center, right.
4. S-Tec 55 Auto Pilot with Nav GPS navigation basic capacity
5. Garmin high detail GNS-430 GPS system
6, Weathered, well used Bendix King COM1/NAV1 radios and Bendix King Transponder
7. Dual VOR1 and VOR2 gauges for VOR navigational flights and triangulations of
waypoints

Instrumentation features include;
*  Glass Faces with reflections
*  3D Bazels and sunken faces
*  Complete 3D modeled radio stack including the small rubber buttons on the GPS and
auto pilot, fully modelled and not flat polygon plates.
*  Soft glow instrumentation system that features internal illumination, sporting a very
realistic appearance for night flights where one does not need to use the dome light to
see instruments at night.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question:
How do I open the canopy?
Answer: Just mouse drag it open.  This was done so that people could taxi about on the
ground with the canopy partially open like the real Robin pilots do.

Question:  I purchased the Robin and installed it but it doesnt show up in my Flight Sim.
Why?
Answer:  Make sure the compiler did actually find your FS installation.  You may have a
Windows OS-64bit which has the Program Folder renamed to 'Program Files (64)'.  Simply
run the installer again, and this time, before it uploads the files into your computer, check the
location of your Flight Simulator installation.  If its not correct, then click the small Browse
button beside the address string and navigate to your FSX folder, then click OK to start
uploading the package.

This may be necessary also with some 'external hard drives' where FSX is located on a drive
other then C drive.  This does not happen with all installations, only some.

Question:  If the Robin DR400 goes into a next build series up, such as 2.0 or 3.0, do I
need to purchase the package all over again?
Answer:  No.  You are entitled to all factory updates, being an owner of the package.  See
your vendor for details and request the update 'if' the update is a full 'complete installer'
version update.  (Some mini-updates will be available, here only at Lionheart Creations.
Vendors will not carry the mini-updates on a normal basis).

Question:  Will this plane work in FS2004?  Is this a FS2004 version model or pure FSX?
Answer:  No... This is a pure FSX only model, featuring dual VC and exterior models in FSX
SDK formats.  This will 'not' work in FS2004, unfortunately.  I tried all that I could to make
this work in FS2004.

Question:  Is this available in other locations other then Lionheart Creations Ltd?
Answer:  Yes.  We sell through PCAviator.com in their downloads store, and also at the
famous Euro outlet, SimMarket.com which also feature a backup CD service for a small fee.

Question:  Will this work on a slow computer?  What are the requirements?
Answer:  You must first be able to run FSX or Prepar3D fine on your computer.  The Robin
DR400 is not terribly taxing on computers, but requires the minimum to run the simulator
fine and you should then also be able to run the Robin as well.  If your computer runs the
stock Maule or Mooney Bravo fine, then the Robin should also likewise run very well on your
computer..

Question:  Do you offer a Backup CD service?
Answer:  Yes.  Speak to the vendor you purchase from.  Most now offer CD backups, such
as at PCAviator and SimMarket.com.

Question:  Will there be a paint kit for the Robin DR400 package?
Answer:  Yes.  It is included in the aircraft folder when it installs into your simulator.

Question:  What is in this package?
Answer:  The Robin DR400 package features 4 aircraft liveries, custom instrumentation,
custom sound effects system and paint kit.

Question:  Does this feature its own Soundpack or does it use a stock Soundpack?
Answer:  The Robin DR400 uses the stock Piper Cub sound pack.  I chose this because I
really enjoy the calm, not overly loud sound performance of the soundpack.  The interior
shouldnt be too loud and the exterior as well, especially at idle.

Question:  I have a huge part sticking out of the top of my plane?  What is that?
Answer:  You must not have the FSX SP1 Service Pack installed.  If you do, you may need
to re-install it.  Make sure that your UAC in your Windows is adjusted to allow you to install
this and modify the FSX installation.  Some report that their UAC security systems in vista
and Win7 will sometimes block you from the update process.  You can download the FSX
SP1 and SP2 update service packs for FSX at www.fsinsider.com

Question:  When I boot up my plane, its all black.  Why?
Answer:  It sounds like your FSX installation is maxed out in resources from high settings.
Please lower your settings.  To test this, turn off your clouds and your AA setting in Display.
When first installing your plane, you may need to reboot if you have Win7 OS64 and vista
OS64. Rebooting allows it to see the textures.  This is rare, but happens now and then.

Question:  My aircraft shows up, but my gauges arent showing.  Why?
Answer:  The installer at times will place the Gauges CAB file in the 'stock' location, C:
drive.  If you have your Sim in a different location then usual, such as OS64 Program Files
(64) or in another drive (or both of the above), then simply track down where the installer
placed your LHC_DR400.CAB file and drop it into your main Gauges folder in FSX.  You can
also run the installer to a TEMP folder on your desktop, using the browse button before file
uploads begin.  After it finishes, look in your gauges folder in there, locate the CAN file and
drop that in the Gauges folder in FSX.

Question:  The 'click sounds' and special sound effects stopped working.  Whats going on?
Answer:  This sometimes happens in a saved flight, rebooting into the flight.  Simply reload
the plane.  You can set your keyboard to 'reload users aircraft' with keys Control/Shift/R (you
must program that in) and you can then reload the plane quickly and sound should be
restored.  You can also reload the flight via Control / ;   keys.  This will restart back to the
saved point though.

Question:  Will flying this plane for over 10 hours at a time cause bags under my eyes,
double vision, and other such side effects?  Or have you figured out gaming codes and other
such enhancements that will enable me to fly this thing continuously around the clock?
Answer:  No....    It will still wear you out and cause double vision and blood shot eyes
from extreme over-time flying.  We suggest you take breaks.  Go outside, see the sun, listen
to the birds, play in the rain, then get right back into your jet and fly some more.  :)  (Thats
how I do it).

Question:  How do I set altitude on the S-Tec auto pilot?  There is no setting?
Answer:  This is true.  To set the ALT on the S-Tec, you tap 'ALT' button on the S-Tec face
when you 'attain' that altitude.  You can set your 'vertical speed' (VS button) to have a steady
climbout until you get to that ALT, but until then you must wait until you attain your desired
ALT and then click on the ALT button to 'lock' it.

Question:  I am interested in purchasing an actual, new Robin aircraft.  Where do I go?  Are
these planes still produced?
Answer:  Yes.  The Robin has gone back into full production and features sevearal model
lines.  Please go to www.Robin-Aircraft.com and you will find details and links on how to go
about purchasing the newest models of Robin aircraft.  There is also a great little movie that
shows how the planes are assembled at the factory.

DOWNLOAD
The paint kit for the Robin DR400 is
built into the package, in a folder
labled Paintkit in the aicraft's folder
in FS.  The main file is in PSD
format, Adobe Photoshop, and
includes 3 blank version striped
paint schemes as well in the folders
marked 'blank' in the Paintkit folder
structure.
SPECIAL NOTES.  PLEASE READ.

SOUNDPACK
The Soundpack of the Robin DR400 uses the stock Piper Cub
Soundpack of either FSX or Prepar3D.  You can run 'any' Soundpack
you wish in the Robin package.  I particularly liked the Piper Cub
soundpack and added it to the package.  The engine is a Lycoming
O360, so it should be very easy to locate other optional Soundpacks
for it.  Note, you need only drop in a new Soundpack to run it.
Probably rename the stock Sound folder before dropping a new one in
so you can go back if needed.

ALTIMETER
The present build of the DR400 uses American Altimeter
'measurement' for adjusting atmosphere (Kohlsman setting).  We will
offer an update that converts the Altimeter to European adjustment
format.

AUX FUEL TANK
We were not able to create the Aux tank fuel system in the Robin
DR400.  We have the exterior cap for it, but the FSX / P3D systems do
not allow for the type of fuel 'release' at the Robin has, which when the
knob is pulled, fuel goes from the Aux tank to the Center main fuel
tank.  This feature was taken out as it couldn t be done.
Small Bug Reports

* Heading Knob in 2D panel mode doesnt function.

* The Altimeter Kohlsman knob does not animate.
Neat Addon Alert: Girls Pack!

Are you a lady pilot or inclined to want a female pilot at the helm of
your Robin DR400?  Dream no more.  I have created a Girls Pack, two
lady pilots, 2 different hair styles 'with' textures.  These are set up for
the Red Stripes and Yellow Stripes versions.  Instructions included.
Download  Note: this is not required with Build 2.0 and the
Build 2.0 update Kit.
Super Clear Interior Plexi

If you fly alot of VFR and the tinting and interior reflections are a
bother for you, no worries.  Adding this small file to your 'texture'
folder will increase your visibility and make the interior glass almost
totally transparent.
